Background

Nora is… Complicated.
Growing up in a Pureblood family, she had everything she wanted handed to her on a silver platter. Her older brother also doted on her, and so she was raised expecting that she was the center of the universe. When she started her Pureblood training at the age of 6, it was soon discovered she could not pay attention or sit still for any of her lessons. It wasn’t long after that she was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).
Despite being Purebloods, her parents were not the kind to think of themselves as powerful; rather, they saw themselves as lucky, and used their wealth (both inherited and earned) to help others, including muggles. However, after trying medication for a couple of years, they realised that it was affecting Eleonora negatively and stopped, instead hiring someone to try and help her cope.
It was only once she started attending Hogwarts at the age of 11 that she realised how neglected she’d been during her childhood; her parents were always too busy for her, and she grew up under the care of different nannies. After hearing one of her friends and housemate talk about her love for her parents, Nora realised with a start that she did not feel any of this for hers. Rather, she respected them and perhaps even admired them for what they did, but there was no real love.
This startling discovery left her confused for some time, during which she questioned everything she knew. Eventually, a few months later, she realised there wasn’t much she could do about it - except, perhaps, learn from their mistakes and not repeat the same when she had her own children - and moved on quite quickly.
